AAF-Black Hills earns this award for the second year in a row; but in 2020 is number one in the nation.
[RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA] The Black Hills chapter of the American Advertising Federation –AAF-Black Hills – was recognized during the 2020 ADMERICA National Conference as the number one club in the nation for growth in their local American Advertising Awards competition. With a growth rate of 114% over last year, AAF-Black Hills ranked first among 215 chapters across the United States. Additionally, AAF-Black Hills was the Division IV winner.
For the second consecutive year, AAF-Black Hills was awarded this honor, but in 2020 was ranked number one. The local American Advertising Awards competition occurred in January, while the awards ceremony took place in February. This competition recognizes top professional advertising and marketing talent in the Black Hills. Participants submit their work in various categories including TV and radio commercials, annual reports, logo design, marketing collateral, packaging design and more. Additionally, in the student competition, awards were given to up-and-coming talent from Black Hills State University and Oglala Lakota College.
The national American Advertising Awards is one of the industry's largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through local club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the spirit of creative excellence in advertising.
The local event sponsored by AAF-Black Hills is held annually in February and is the first step in a 3-tiered competition where top entries move through a district competition onto the final national competition.
AAF-Black Hills was established in Rapid City in 1981 by the late Tom Franklin. The organization exists to connect the marketing and advertising community across the Black Hills Region and provides networking opportunities, education, resources, as well as developing future talent and recognizing excellence in our industry.
